Beartown Patchwork and Quilters have long believed that creativity thrives when shared, and one of the group’s most cherished traditions is meeting with neighbouring quilting communities. These friendly exchanges allow members to showcase their work, learn from others, and celebrate the craft that brings them together. Just as importantly, the groups we visit often return the gesture, creating a lovely cycle of inspiration and connection.
On Tuesday 10th February, members of Beartown Patchwork and Quilters travelled to Sale to visit Montague Patchers, who welcomed them with genuine hospitality and lively conversation.

After Beartown’s show‑and‑tell presentation, the room quickly filled with discussion as Montague members came forward to ask questions about specific pieces. Particular excitement surrounded the postcard challenge and the shoe box challenge, both of which sparked curiosity and admiration. It was a joy to see how shared creativity can open the door to new ideas and friendships.

The visit was not only enjoyable but energising, leaving everyone looking forward to the next chapter in this ongoing exchange. Beartown Patchwork and Quilters are delighted to be welcoming the Montague group for a return visit later in the year — another opportunity to celebrate craftsmanship, community, and the colourful threads that connect us all.
