First meeting back and lots of beautiful things to share:)
22nd September saw yet more interesting creations.
Helen’s quilt, titled ’Fields and Tracks’, came about from an online workshop organised by The Loft of The Quilters’ Guild in March 2026.It was with David Owen Hastings and the workshop was called ‘Inspired by Art’.Helen chose a picture of botanical drawing of an artichoke flower. Using the lines in the drawing and using improv techniques blocks were created.She said ” It didn’t end up anything like the art that inspired it but that’s the creative process!”.
Gwen had been busy with 4 items, Pam with 2 and Jackie was very pleased with her first attempt at a Log cabin quilt.
Nancy had been experimenting with an incredible rainbow cathedral window quilt for a sewing exchange, along with a notebook cover and mini hexagon bowl.

29th September saw 4 finished pocket sanctuaries – see post on Andrea’s workshop
Gwen used up 6 clasps by making 3 glass cases and 3 purses. Ruth has used the left over silk pieces from the group quilt to make another beautiful one, all hand quilted. Val had been very productive – 2 crocheted blankets for babies, 2 pouches for niece and another bag from Wild Iris quilt remains.
Donna also showed us samples from her husband’s long arm quilting. Impressive!
