I went on the Saturday with my daughter Gwen arriving around midday. We made it through the traders hall quite quickly, taking note of stalls we wanted to return to, as for me, the important bit was viewing the quilts. How to do It? We decided to wend our ways up and down the rows. And who should I spot but Christine , Chris, Joan and Doreen having a spot of lunch – they’d been sensible and were attending over several days. They mentioned the Beartown group quilt was over the other side of the hall . On my way over to it I bumped into Donna and her family so stopped to admire her “Off to Hogwarts” quilt first.

Once in the group quilts section we found our “Ruby Bouquet”. Gwen pointed out the competition catalogue entry and there was my name in the program! Though I have no idea which is my rose and I don’t think I will be as brave as Donna and ever enter my own quilt.

The next one I had to find was the purple “When I am an old woman” quilt made by the Phoenix group-Ruth Garner, Janet Whitewright, Nancy Clarke, Jean Bell and Mary Turner.

Now it was time to wander and admire all the fantastic and beautiful quilts created by so many skillful and talented people. Here’s a selection.
